Since 1964, Bick Group has provided electrical/mechanical support to Mission Critical Facilities, Data Centers and clean room environments. Our 50+ years' experience in and around data centers makes us the leading expert in the field.

Due to volume and growth demands we are looking for several Installation Technicians with a strong mechanical aptitude to install and repair Mission Critical infrastructure systems per designed plans, manufacturer specifications, and national and local codes. Systems include, but are not limited to HVAC, electrical, fire alarm and suppression systems, access control, and building automation systems.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Diagnoses causes of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment
  • Repairs mechanical components
  • Correctly size conduit and box fill; correctly size mechanical piping and duct work; correctly size wire for all applications
  • Installs mechanical piping, duct systems, seismic bracing systems
  • Installs panels and transformer and other service equipment
  • Perform pressure and leak checks on all types of piping systems
  • Perform soldering and brazing procedures
  • Reads, understands, interprets basic wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Responds to emergency service calls as required; available 24/7 as needed to accommodate the on-call rotation
  • Submits paperwork on a timely basis to the service desk so that accounts can be updated and billed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicates with clients/customers, informs them of equipment conditions and status of repairs
  • Partners with account managers to further build and develop the client relationship
  • Maintains and operates company service vehicle if participating in the on-call rotation
  • Ability to accommodate flexible and varying work week schedules based on client/company need

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to speak and read the English language
  • Willingness and ability to travel, if required, to out-of-town locations and remote job sites
  • Proven track record for completing tasks on time
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possess a basic understanding of specialty engineered products such as generators, chillers, air-conditioners, heaters, dehumidification and plumbing equipment

Education/Experience Required

  • High school diploma
  • College level electrical and/or mechanical training courses
  • Formal apprenticeship training and certification
  • EPA Certification
  • 5 - 10 years' experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Preferred qualifications include technical school graduate
  • Preferred qualifications U.S. Passport/Passport card to be used for security access at customer sites
